We have a number of SQL 2008 clustered instances that we are monitoring. We want to build out some SCOM 2012 dashboard with a counter of "transactions/sec". What we've seen is that some SQL instances provide the transaction/sec like the SCOM dB instance but others instances are not available.
On the instances we can see like the Object as above (SQLSERVER:Database which is specific to SQL instance) but some instances are missing. If we create a simple performance view we can see the counters. The other finding would be that we don't see references like <InstanceName:Database> but the <instancename : Database> (Notice the spaces before/after the : ) object counter has all the db space counters.
